Ok spidery,Dave and all the others that have offered advice, and I believe the smiths also helped to tell me how to post a photo. Here is my setup for now, will be adding at least one if not two trio’s for 2019. All the gourds are naturals and I’m gonna try to add vents and access ports over the winter.

Good job on posting the picture!

Those are some perfect shaped natural gourds. I looked up your location, there should be plenty of bugs for the Martins with all of the bodies of water near your location.

Adding a 3/4" vent to the upper back of the gourds will help with the summertime heat. Anytime the Heat gets above 100 degrees the Fledglings begin developing problems & start jumping.

Spider-Man ,Dave....... thanks guys ,yes that is a Chuck Abare gourd rack. It’s made totally out of cypress. A friend who used to make furniture and has a full, large shop has tons of it and offered up the wood and use of his shop (how lucky was that) so I made one ,and may make another one. And after searching the United States for gourds I found someone within ten miles of my house that grows em and has tons of em! They are all hand picked 8-11”, I then designed the canopies and wire perches. I put it all up way late just so the neighbor birds visiting could see it. But.. it’ll be there early on this coming season along with some new trios to go with it. In between hunting this year I do plan to install the heat venting over the winter. So ya’ll be keepin your fingers crossed for me this year that I get my colony started this coming season. I’m gonna replace that homemade house you see with a trio cause the birds three neighbors down are used to that type of house. So for trying to get started I’m gonna offer what they are used to. The one ASY male that stayed around for two months stayed in a gourd every night. They’re are some folks over in town that have gourds (6-8miles from here) and they are always full,so I’m looking for some occupation of gourds also. Hoping for the best.
