The 25th Annual Purple Martin Field Day in VA is here again! See 130 pairs of Purple Martins!

The program begins at 11:00 a.m. Arrive before then, so you won't miss the Door Prize give-away (including free GOURDS!) before the presentations begin.

Having trouble attracting martins? Did you have a martin colony but all your birds disappeared? Lance Wood and several other speakers will teach you how to GET martins, get MORE martins, and manage them properly so you won't lose them. Are gourds or houses safer or better for martins? Will martins eat all your mosquitoes? COME AND FIND OUT!!!

You will learn how to protect martins from snakes, hawks, owls, raccoons, House Sparrows, Starlings, wind damage, and lightning. You'll receive free equipment catalogs and literature about martin attraction and management. Bring a bag lunch to eat while you listen to the presentations and watch hundreds of martins soaring over the farm, feeding their nestlings! Then visit with other martin-lovers! After the main program, you can buy gourds/seeds, and learn to grow gourds and modify them to create safe, long-lasting Purple Martin homes. Experienced landlords will be available to answer martin questions. You will receive free literature on martin attraction and management, and catalogs for high-quality martin equipment! Events end by 3:00 p.m. Come and join the fun!

No registration. Event is FREE but donations are appreciated to help cover expenses.
