Second year with my setup on Lake Ontario has been fun but unfortunately ending soon. I have 2 families with 4 babies in each gourd. The second family is about ready to fledge so I shot a few pictures yesterday with my smart phone held up to a telescope. I don't live there and they will most likely be gone by next weekend when I return, bummer. It's been a great experience and I look forward to next season while continuing to build my colony! The forum has been a wonderful resource in helping me learn about the hobby.

Martin Boy,
Thank you so much for the great pictures. I'm happy to hear you had a successful season. Many people use this website for everything that is purple martin related. It is good to hesr that you use the site and it has helped. Best of luck next season.
Mite control, heat venting, predator protection and additional feeding during bad weather add up to success.

Well I ended up back out at the lake cottage yesterday and got lucky. I was there to see the last baby fledge the nest. Really great experience to witness!
