I must have flipped over 40 crickets and over half a plate of scrambled eggs for at least 20 minutes, then - suddenly - the *MAGIC* happened. A female took off and caught a cricket just 3 or 4 feet off the ground!

Wow - what a day! I'm so relieved - there were at least 20 martins out on the perches and swirling above me and diving for crickets. I probably flipped over 200-250 crickets to them. I have a blister on my flipping finger!

What have I learned?
1. It takes more than a few minutes and a few flips to get them going initially. Don't get discouraged....one of those martins is keeping an eye on what you're doing.

2. Take multiple flipping spoons with you....you'll break a few.

3. Don't wait until the martins haven't been able to feed for too long, or they will be too weak to catch the crickets.
