I have blue birds also. I don't have much experience at this but haven't seen the blue birds be overly aggressive. I did build four extra houses with blue bird size holes so hopefully they will settle in them rather than my Martin houses. Looking for more info from those with more knowlege about Blu...

I learned about the Starling resistant holes too late.....Already had the house built. I have a tack driving Ruger 10/22 target. Tuned it up yesterday. Destroys a quarter size bulls eye at 40 yards. Hate to shoot anything that is alive but apparently it is going to be necessary.

Jeff,
I haven't been around long enough to know what all the abbreviations mean. Keep it simple for the old man here....

Jeff,
I was going to do Starling control today but I also have a very strong south east wind. Starlings are already building in the new house I put up.
They will be evicted.
Glad the Martins are visiting you.

James, I'm retired and away from the rat race. I've had martin housing for years but didn't know it was such a BIG thing until I came across this forum. Amazing. These folks have it down to a science. Expected the Martins to come back yesterday evening but didn't see them. Maybe today. Hi Jeff. Good...

Hi James,
I live in S/E Oklahoma. About 20 miles from Fort Smith, Ark.
Shady Point is the big city.....Maybe 1000 residents. Post Office, two gas station/quicky marts, barber shop, school, and that's about it. I live about 1 1/2 miles out in the country.

HEAT !

I have two cheap two story 12 hole aluminum houses. When I cleaned them out I noticed that there are no nests in the top floor. Could this be due to heat???[/b]
