Re: 2nd Starling Attack tonight!

Toy,
You should probably consider using some type of SREH plate, as opposed to your current entrance.
I'm afraid you're going to lose more Martins with the current entrance hole configuration.

Re: ASY Male attacked injured!!

So sorry Toy.
Did you convert your NorthStar Plastics T-10 houses to starling resistant entrances?
I know you had been running round holes up to fairly recently.

Re: House Sparrows Cohabitating?

I guess my advice to pull the nest with eggs intact is bad advice. That is definitely good advice. The only time of course to hold on pulling house sparrow nests, is when the Martin nests in the other compartments have eggs or small babies. If that's the case, nest tear outs without havin...

Re: House Sparrows Cohabitating?

In my humble opinion, all traps for houses and/or gourds sold by the PMCA should come standard with a cheap, easy to use restrictor plate/hole reducer, that can be easily clipped on where needed to block Martins and not interfere with the trapping functions.

Re: New chalet rack at an old site

Hi Ryan,
I went to your chalet website - top notch!
Question: I noticed your chalets pictured on that site were all decked out with Conley II entrances.
Do you still use WDC Excluders on new builds?
I know a popular source for these seemed to disappear sometime back (at least their web presence did).

Re: SY ID

Great photo Flyin-Lowe! That is without a doubt an SY male. Your ASY males are probably chasing him because they are fully aware of the trouble that SY males often cause. Anything from trying to "flirt" with the ASY male's mate, to in extreme cases dragging babies out of the nests to (in theory) und...

Re: 6 eggs in camera nest

Matt, I have someone wanting to know what Nest Cam you are using. Could you provide me with brand and model? Hi Dale, One thing I learned over the past few years, is how important having a wider field of view is. There are a lot if the tiny cameras that have very narrow fields of view, making it mu...

Re: Martin reaction to decoy...HELP!

If they're really aggressive towards the Martin decoy, you could try dove decoys.
