Re: Here They Come! (I think . . . )

Be patient, since your a new colony your best chance will come from May 1 until the end of May, we had a new colony last yr. and our first birds didn't settle until May 23rd and we are in central Ohio we ended up with four nesting pair.

Hopefully they hold off coming to far north too fast as its 15 Degrees in Ohio this morning and the next weeks forecast isn't too good.

Re: T14 with tunnels question

I would agree you'll have more success with larger inner holes, at least 3"

Re: Adding tunnels to super gourd question

I took a Saber saw and cut the holes to around 3" and installed the tunnels on my gourds and it worked great, did not want martins to have to get nesting material through 2 different holes.

Re: Visitor's this morning

We are on the Ohio River between Parkersburg and Wheeling and are wondering where the nearest roost is to us. We have a late fledge (8/31) and as of tonight still have 3 Martins staying in our box. I would be interested in any information regarding roosts in Ohio/West Virginia. Welcome to the forum...

Visitor's this morning

So I walked out this morning and there they were 7 Martin's circling our houses. ...stayed for less than 5 min. and were gone. Still nice to see, curious if there is a roost somewhere in central Ohio.
