Hi everyone,
I had a great season with 70 chicks out of 83 eggs laid fledge. But, to my great surprise, I have another 5 new nests. Yes, this late. Normally my season would be ending. Not this year. Yesterday's nest check revealed 14 nestlings (4 different nests) and a nest with 4 eggs. Interesting isn't it?

Martin Colony History: 2016 - late to put up, many visitors
2017 - 1 pair, 3 fledged
2018- 2 pair, 12 fledged
2019 - 4 pair, 21 fledged
2020 - 15 pair, 67 fledged

That is pretty cool.

I have two late nests but in no way compared to yours. Will be interesting to see how yours turn out.

I'm not sure. I do know that all the nest are new. No old nest was reoccupied. I'd say it's probably late arrivals.
