I can finally say there is an sy pair staying the night in my Duracraft Castle that I got from my mother. This year I completely took it apart and enlarged the nests, added porch dividers and gave it a full paint job. I also converted it to work with a trio castle winch set up. It originally mounted to the top of a pole. My gourd racks filled up and left them no option. I don't care why they are staying there as long as they are staying there.

After one sy pair claimed a nest the Duracraft is becoming more accepted. As I had hoped the new sy birds coming in are giving it attention, with 3 pair spending the night last night and lots of activity on it this morning.

That's cool. I have an old Castle that I tried one or two years and had no takers. If I could find another one, so I could build a double mount and put it on a decent sized pole, I'd put it back up and leave it long enough that they'd decide to use it.
Martin landlord since 2003. Currently offering 132 plastic gourds with tunnels and all SREH.

Glad to hear this Deancamp. I hope this is a start to something great.
Your reward for the time you put in on the rebuild. Good luck! 8)
