Martin Colony History: Newbie 51 years old and stumbled onto this by accident. Amazing bird. Just wanna help and give/receive happiness and be one with nature. Don't mind shooting an intruder of any kind though. Have a blessed day.

I've seen 3 PM check things out all in the mid afternoon. What's been others experience when trying to start a colony? No residents but curious as to what times to be on the lookout. My neck is getting sore.

I would of said mid morning. Give your neck a break, I almost always hear them before I see them.

I agree that mid morning was always the time I would see visitors when I was trying to establish a colony. To narrow it down a little I would say 10AM till Noon. I also agree that you will almost always hear them before you see them.
