Welcome to the internet's gathering place for Purple Martin enthusiasts

I inherited a duracraft (castle style) house from my mother. I so much would like to get the Martins to accept this house as they produced lots of young in it for my mother in past years. Normally the Martins pay no attention to it at all, not even to use it as a perch. They will pass right by only using the gourds. Today with freezing dank weather there are a few of the males spending time outside on the gourd perches, but just sitting not much activity. I have now noticed them hanging out on the house and even staying inside of the house nest boxes for a period of time. Could it be coincidence or did this cold weather slow their activity enough so they are checking everything out more? Regardless I hope they will call it home.
