On 6/15, checked Colony 1 and have that clutch of 4 eggs. Skipped checking my Colony 2. Projected fledging of two gourds, one on the 14th and the second on the 16th, chickened me out. Was worried about jumpers. Called PMCA, spoke with Tara about skipping this check because was worried about the skip compromising my data I intend to send to Eire when the season's over. She gave me the OK, no compromise.
Nest check today was #13 and now have 4 young (fledge 7/20) in Colony 1 and 5 young (fledge 6/28) in Colony 2. Have had 13 fledge from 3 gourds in Colony 2 since my 11th check.
So 27 birds fledged so far and 2 of that number are at the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center being fed every 2 hours on crickets and meal worms. Been there a week and still can't maintain flight. Keeping my fingers crossed.
