Are they arriving earlier than usual?
I haven't looked at ALL the arrivals so far this year but most of the ones I did look at seemed that they are arriving earlier than they usually do. Is that what you all are noticing, too?

So maybe the groundhog was right down south anyway. Believe me, the jury's still out on that up north, we've got a real mess. I sure hope things start turning around real soon. I've had my fill of this winter, even thought it got started late, we have more than made up for that.

Amen to that, it was a hard winter and a harder spring last year for our northern friends. Praying for a better spring for the northern tier. I havnt heard yet from Toy but she had it hard as did many others. The martins face alot of challenges on their rush to get home.

Iv got a relatively young colony, 2017- early April; 2018- Feb 18th. The lone male i saw last week was just looking but he came back today with a female. He went twice to the same cavity, calling and trying to get her interested but they took off. Its early still by a week.
