I just clicked over to the PMCA Home Page and checked out the reports of Premigratory Roosts. You click on Research on the PMCA Banner and then scroll down just a little to Premigratory Roosts on the left of the page. An article and a map will come up. The map has green dots on it indicating where the roosts are. If you click on the dot, it brings up the info about the roost.
What I found interesting was the familiar shopping center parking lot in the live oak trees routine. There are some roosts on islands in the middle of a lake and of course some under or on bridges.
I just thought it was interesting... plus you can check to see if there is a roost close to you.
Welcome to the internet's gathering place for Purple Martin enthusiasts

- Martin Colony History: Erected 1st house in 1997. Birds were checking it out before Mike got down from the ladder. Six cavities had a little colony 1st year. Grown to 88 cavities all gourds with near 100% occupancy. Most important factor for success is rain = bugs.
