While clearing the Amherstburg Holiday Beach Conservation Community purple martin site of unsightly weeds and overgrown brush with Richard Carr from Walpole Island this morning, April 2nd, an ASY male Purple Martin was seen surveying the gourd housing after his annual trip back from his wintering grounds. The 2017 season has begun! Although bad weather is predicted for the rest of the week with rain and possible snow flurries, he should have plenty of housing compartments available to shelter him.

Many thanks to OPMA members- Ron, Richard, and Dennis for assisting with this Sunday project. We are now ready for additional housing to be installed later this month.

Photos of this male arrival can be found at the PMCA affiliate site "Ontario Purple Martin Association": http://essexpurplemartins.ca/?p=7672

Ontario Landlords are asked to keep us posted on their arrivals and if they also need any help this Spring with their Purple Martin Housing set ups.
Keep the martins flying in Ontario!
