Martin Colony History: 1st year....just visitors.
2nd ......praying!.......prayers answered 5/28/16 with 10 couples and lots of 1st year males. Making improvements and planning for 2017 and beyond.
3rd year.....all compartments on both poles (28 + 18) and planning on 18 more for 2018.

Started out 2 years ago (summer 2014) planning and visiting Andrew and Adam Troyer many times and calling many times. Fall 2014, acquired Spanish cedar, made cut list and cut out the T-14. Winter 2015, built and painted T-14, Spring 2015, set pole, erected T-14. Hoisted T-14 up pole on Mother's Day, first visitor June 5, 6 visitors on June 16, no other action. August 2015, added Troyer tunnels with starling resistant openings, and 8 Troyer horizontal gourds. Fall 2015, dug and cemented ground stake for Troyer gourd rack (18 gourds 9 horizontal, 9 vertical). Easter 2016, assembled rack. May 7, readied T-14 and gourds with pine needles, and new gourd rack. May 8, hoisted both rack and T-14, said a prayer. May 14, 2 visitors, stayed a day and left. May 28, 2 couples on porches and in houses, May 29, counted 20 PM's in compartments and lots of chatter. May 30, same as yesterday, PM's all day long, in compartments, porches, lots of chatter and perching. I'm excited, I pray they stay............to be continued. Gary U

Martin Colony History: Started at unsuitable location in 2008. Many lessons learned since. Two tentative locations: Rogers International School and the "Fish Church" (downtown.) One pair in 2015; no fledglings though. No pairs 2016.

Woohoo!!! So happy for you!!!
I have a small property in PA (Hamlin) and I hope to try there next year - maybe I get lucky! (Have been trying in CT for over 3 years now.. many visitors - not as many as you! - but no takers..)
