Hi all. We have been PMCA members for a few years but I never set up a forum account. My brother has a huge colony in SW Missouri and he's the one who got us hooked on these amazing birds.

By early June of this year we had given up hope of any Martins arriving. Because it's excruciating to constantly look out every day for months and see nothing but HSP, we decided to take down our house. It's a good thing the husband had other chores and was delayed in taking down the house as a pair arrived to set up housekeeping on June 3! They laid five lovely eggs and there are five healthy nestlings being cared for by our very attentive pair. An added bonus are the wonderful PM visitors we are getting every day! It's as if they are here helping protect our 5 humble nestlings along with the parents. Hearing our PM's chortle and sing is one of the most precious gifts of summer!

Here are few photos from our one nest of 2015:

Congratulations on your first pair! We had a first pair in June also several years ago. We have given up but was surprised just like you were. So happy for you. You will probably have more pairs next year. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
