FIRST BABIES

Our first baby martins hatched yesterday, right on time. This pair started laying on May 8th and laid 7 eggs. 6 hatched yesterday by the time I did nest check and one more egg to go!

Glad to hear something's going on somewhere in Iowa! Sure a dead zone hear in P Hill.

That is wonderful. How many pairs do you have this year? I see you had 82 pair last year. That is a LOT of birds. Congratulations on your egg hatching success.

Dave we had alot of new sy's in our colony today hope some of them push up your way .......Tangula we don't know for sure how many pairs we have yet because alot of sy's are still moving in. We have 70 nest with eggs and approx 20 pair more building nests

Thanks for the good news about the sub adults. Tim and I up this way sure could use some that are looking for a good home. The way the weather's heating up they better get their act together. I opened all the vents in my house and gourds the other day.
