My First Eggs!!

Excited to report my very first eggs during today's nest check! Even noticed another pair has started adding green leaves to their nest.
Put up my first house last year and added 2 gourds this year. I currently have 3 pairs. :)

It's been quite a joy watching them this year. :grin:

Martin Colony History: Started in 1992 From neighbors old 1950-60's colonies. Have 8 Trio 6 Room Houses, 4 MPP Poles, 1 Heath Deluxe Gourd with Troyer Porch, 8 NatureLine Gourds with Troyer Porches, 5 Troyer Horizontals ,& 2 S&K 11" WITH Troyer Porches ready for 2019 Season !

Martin Colony History: Start 2009 with one pair. Upgraded from S&K houses to two Trendsetter 12's with gourds beneath in 2013. I have experienced job, pet, and parental losses since '13. The Purple Martins lift my spirits and remind me how life continues forward by flying their little selves from Brazil back to my yard. As one forum person once told me, chin up DebA, look at the martins. Danger all around but yet they soar in the sky without a care in the world.

It is exciting! Sounds like you have a good colony start. I was going to say enjoy every minute but, duh, you are way ahead of me there. :)

Looks like 5 eggs in the gourd as of today. More green leaves going into nest #2 and the beginnings of a 3rd nest are under way. 8)

Just a quick update. I have 2 nests with 5 eggs each and a 3rd nest that has been completed but no eggs yet. :grin:

I have a modified trio grandma, and I noticed 1 of the eggs is in the front compartment by itself, outside of the nest. Should I just leave it?
