PMCA Baited Trap and a male sparrow.

My tipping can trap caught a male sparrow last Tuesday. I decided to place it Inside one of the baited PMCA traps I have instead quickly disposing it. There were four more sparrows inside this trap yesterday and they were all females. Wow, I did not realize how persuasive the male sparrows are. Yest...

Folks, I have the same situation with a couple of my neighbors; I tried to educate them about how destructive the starlings and sparrows are to the native cavity nesting species. I got the same response ?we love them all?. Lately one of the closest neighbors was wondering why she has very few sparro...

Lou, No, I don't want a fight.......................... You must be one of those indidviduals that are too serious about what you see on TV. "TV did not raise my son" my wife and I did. He grew up around real guns and "TV guns". He's a responsible 24 year old veteran and is a college student. As far...

Five Day Nest Check

The Five Nest Check I did my third nest check yesterday after i got home from work and every thing is fine. I was expecting sparrow damage this time, but thank goodness, no damage. I take a digital photo of every nest as part of my nest check. It is amazing to see the change in every nest after five...

Bob, I don't have any daytime or night time predator problem at all. The only big headache I have are the sparrows. i use to hear an owl hooting near by for a couple of years during PM season, it just went away and never heard from it again. With this contraption only the smaller size starlings can ...

BillyC, The end game is the reason why we are all in this and I?m so glad you think that way. That is why I told this individual to consider it (my design) to be my gift to the birds. I still have this plan to manufacture my creation and hopefully make a few bucks on the way to helping the Purple Ma...

That?s a house any Martin Steward can be proud of to hoist in their yard.

I sure hope that you don?t plan on marketing this. I made a mistake of
showing my design to some one back late 1999. A year and a half later
this some one had a copy of my idea on the market.

Here is another female PM in room 3 that stayed in the room during
this nest check. She did leave the room even after I raised the houses
back up.

I found that I can look at the pictures I take on each room longer than
trying to look at the progress of each nest at nests check.

Tobit, Since I do not use any of the rooms in my PM housing to trap sparrows or starlings, I try to do my nest check when I get home from work in the evenings around five or six in the evenings. I do this every five days. This does not seem to bother them that much. They go about their business afte...

Folks, I created a 2 inch deep crescent shape SREH tunnel. This has performed admirably for me. I have them installed and plugged until I see the first Martin on my site. Once the Martins arrived at my site then I remove all of the plugs. I?ve seen some starlings get in and shot on their way out. I ...
