Re: New landlord survey
My third year nothing yet. Excluder II SREH. Because the past couple of years what visitors I had gave up on trying to enter the SREH's. After an interested male and female became curious yesterday, I decided to try change out one of the SREH with an original door with the round hole to make it easi...

Thanks for the info Doorn. I checked the main house today and there is the beginnings of one nest. It contains some coarse stemmy grass laid flat around the sides with a small cup in center, with no mud or leaves yet. Sooo, yay!!! Looks as though I have an immature pair. Well see how far they make i...

Having that male is better than anything else you could do. If other martins are out there looking for homes he will find them. Boy! Dorn, you are so right on. My SY-M has flown his tail off (not really) hunting for a female. He has had off and on visitors most every day. He gets Sooo excited! The ...

My lone subbie remains at my site. Several other SY'S have visited. There have been a couple of ASY's that attempt to entice my SY-M to follow them, but he is sticking here so far. He gets Sooo excited when he sees new birds visiting. His vocalizations are really varied!! I believe the SY's are stil...

I've been so successful catching HOSP with the Spar-o-door... Lucky today I saw a beak constantly going in and out off the tripped trap. When I began to retrieve the devil bird from the plastic bag, I saw an orange breast and thought uh oh! I had never caught a bluebird before, but today was the day...

Having that male is better than anything else you could do. If other martins are out there looking for homes he will find them. Oh... That is good to know! He sure is busy. He buzzed me this morning and I was at least 60 ft from his house. The sparrows are buzzed if they sit on the house. He seems ...

I have a SY-M that arrived Friday May 30th. He has been slipping in and out of my Excluder II doors easily. My site has been inactive for at least four years, so it's a lovely sight and sound!! Hoping for more subbies to be attracted to his calls. I'm encouraged by all the posting going on about SY'...

Well, I have one lone SY-M who has taken up residence for the last three days.... He seems to be staying the night, but I don't know that for sure. The Excluder II doors are not deterring him even a tiny bit. He slips in and out easily. I guess the subbies are continuing to arrive. He is a brave one...

Me too, you guys... I've had visitors maybe three our four times. The last two times it was a pair. They hung around maybe 30 minutes and then left, not to be seen again. I've watched several flying high high in the sky once on a while. They seem to be hunting food and not site searching. Dang ...

Thanks Dorn... I've been sorely tempted to try that. They both flew over while I was removing some sparrows. Soo I think their interest is still there! If indeed, they are the same pair. The starlings do spend some time investigating as well. I'd hate to get them overly interested. I'm not a good sh...
