It looks like you are on your way Paula - Congratulations! I would not rush to check the nests but I would let the martins see you in the area often. You will be able to tell when they accept your presence as they will just sit and watch without flushing or strafing you. Enjoy!!

My PMs left the area on Aug 20th last year but it really depends on their arrival time and fledge dates. In your area they may arrive almost two weeks before mine so they might leave earlier too.

Congratulations Ray! That is an amazing increase. I have heard from several martin landlords around this area who have reported the same explosion in the last week.

I'm sure there are many Ed but I do not read many accounts where a whole colony just stopped returning for many years for some unknown reason.

Congratulations Toy. My first SY male just arrived a few days ago but I have not seen more arrivals. It sounds like folks to our south are still seeing many new arrivals so I hope there are many more headed our way in May and June. Good Luck.

I hope your Bluebirds return Doug, and they just might. Mine are very slow this year in just choosing a box and none have started building either.
