Thank you Larry, I'm so glad to hear you have a nesting pair! I hope everything works out for your new couple. Keep us posted..
Maybe the pair that's been coming here just isn't ready to commit yet. Wishful thinking is all I have. Annie
Would an sy pair hang out a lot or a little at an un-established site? It seems I only see them late afternoon and just before sunset. The male defends the gourd rack from other martins when they try to land. But I have not seen them enter a gourd yet. Am I just grasping at straws here or what??
Thanks Dennis for your input. The pair has briefly landed on the trendsetter but has been spending more time on my gourd rack. I do not have the dawnsong attached to that. I do have it on my trendsetter but just playing it on and off very low. Its been soo windy the past 2 days... not much action he...
Thanks Trish! I am seeing quite a few more sy"s this week. the sy pair was back again yesterday on my gourd rack. They were joined by 3 other sy but couldn't tell who was what. All I can do is hope for the best. Sounds like your having a great year and that's what Wisconsin needs. Thanks agai...
Thank you Archer and Taxidermy lady for responding to my post.. You too Ed! Good luck to you all this season.. Especially you Taxidermy Lady.. I'm still hoping your guy will work his magic and bring in a gal.. Who knows what today will bring... ( I hope some martins!) :) Annie Thanks again!
Thank you so much Ed.. They were just here, only this time on my gourd rack on the opposite side of the house. She peeked in a troyer horizontal for bit. :) They took off and landed about 5 times. I really appreciate your input. Hope your having a great year. I'll let you know if anything more happe...
Ed.. I have the songbird magnet mounted right underneath the house on the pole. I would have to lower the house to turn it down. It's not very loud now. I can barely hear it from my house which is about 80 feet away. Should I turn it down more? I just don't want to spook them..
Two days ago I had a subadult pair land on my Trendsetter and peek in a few holes. They stayed about 20 min. I had the dawn song playing. Well today they came back and landed on the house twice looking in holes. I did not have the dawn song playing. My question is ..should I turn it back on or leave...
Yes there are a lot of colonies down on the river in front of me. Lots of houses along the river and I think they like it better on the water. I have wide open flyways and only one big cottonwood in my yard. I had an adult male here on Monday and he liked my supergourds. Even entered a few times and...
I'm in the same boat Dave... Except they come every day, sit on my gourd rack and preen .. Then jump down on the driveway and eat egg shells and then leave. I'm happy to see them, but it would be nice if they would nest here someday. Maybe you will get lucky and get a pair yet. Keep trying!! Annie :...
