Lisa,

Where in North Texas are you? Are you near the DFW area? I have a place I have shared with others where I get pine needles.

Coolwhips.
Great place indeed!

Re: Finished putting up my acquired Trio

Hey Whippy found this thread searching for Wasp remedies. I have screen over the roof vents on my trios but not the door vents/holes. Did you screen the holes on your trio doors? I had horrible wasp population last season and had to be vigilant especially on unused trios. How did you attach your sc...

Re: Achieving landlord success

As someone who just put up my first house, I appreciate you creating this thread, and am looking forward to learning a few tips and tricks from everyone! My Trendsetter has been up since mid January. I have pre - nested. Been playing dawn song and chatter on my outside speakers. Just ordered some de...

Ok. Got word from the manufacturer that the mesh wire floors are supposed to come out when you add the nesting trays.

Re: Question about my new Trendsetter...

Does anyone here currently have a trendsetter with crescent openings who use the manufacturers nesting trays on top of the wire mesh sub flooring? And how is it working out for you?

Re: Question about my new Trendsetter...

I made my nest trays for my Trendsetter 26 and place them on top of the mesh screens. I think the trays will stay drier being on the screens and not on the floors. I've done this since day one, about 8 years. Dave Do your trays come all the way up to the entrance whole, and do they make it more dif...

Question about my new Trendsetter...

I recently put up a new Trendsetter 12 (First time landlord). It came with removable wire mesh inserts on the floors of the individual cavities. I additionally purchased the nest boxes that you can use inside the cavities. My question is, do I leave the wire mesh flooring inside, and just place the ...

Re: Air Rifles

T-Bird, As you know the multi-pump air rifles give you choices with each shot. You can use a light pellet with fewer pumps for a shot at a closer range HOSP and a heavy pellet with maximum pumps for a shot at a farther range EUST. Because your Trendsetter 12 is equipped with SREH you will probably ...

Re: Pellet guns...What do you own or recommend?

I just wanted to post an update on my search for a pellet rifle. After torturing myself for a bit with all of the choices available, I finally decided on picking up a vintage Sheridan Blue Streak in .20 caliber. I feel it meets my needs, being that my new Trendsetter is so close to my house. And I l...

Re: Air Rifles

T-Bird, So many factors it is hard to discuss on Forum. Will you be eventually setting up a Sheridan "Blue Streak" with a Williams peep sight or scope or are you good enough with the original front and rear sight. I am planning on a one piece scope mount for Sheridan F and C, Blue & Silver Streak f...

Re: Will BBs work on Non-Native, Invasive Birds?

T-Bird, Conrad Baker presents the best way to determine if BBs are accurate enough at 20 yds with your Benjamin 310 BB air rifle. His test to compare BBs vs. Pellets is concise and to the point. The results would be very useful to many landlords. There are many landlords who start with a BB gun to ...

Re: Please help me identify these birds !

No, you can't shoot any native songbirds, including bluebirds, tree swallows, house wrens, carolina wrens, bewick's wrens, flycatchers - all of which might show an interest in martin houses or gourds. If you go to cornell lab of ornithology's all about birds site, there are photos and range maps fo...

Re: Please help me identify these birds !

These birds are trying to nest in my house. Can I blast them? I saw a couple of blueish looking birds swarming my house this morning and the brown bird was mixing it up with them. By the time I got my binoculars up to take a closer look, they all flew off. I don’t want to lose an opportunity to land...
