I'm so sorry Dave. We lost our old guy the day after Christmas to cancer we didn't know he had. He'd just had a check up in Sept and he was fine. We had to make the right decision for him. My lab is 10 now and I can't even think about life without him. Just know that you did what you had to do, that...

I've not tried the BB villas but I do have the Bo villa and the martins love it with the clinger tunnel.

John thanks for mentioning the drape! I did not use that, I did feel that would freak them out. The shade did a good job covering the gourd by its self.

Thanks Emil that's good to know. I couldn't remember what was recommended when it was developed.

I have minor starling problems compared to other members here so I don't want to make it difficult for the birds.

Dually entrance

I'm replacing my old tunnels on my Supergourds. I thought I'd try the Dually.
Should the porch be flush?

Any input on your experience would be appreciated!!

I think the S&K shade certainly helps, however I feel it should be added before it is needed. Most if my gourds are S&K and I really like them so I don't want anyone thinking I am putting it down. Let me explain....I had a nest of 2 young about a week from fledging. It got 100+ and I added the shade...

I've used this for a few years and all the birds love it, even White crowns and Harris sparrows! I add dried mealworms to the mix. Now the BBs will eat just the dried worms from a bowl. So much easier to make sure they have what they need. We still have ice melting from last Friday and the birds ate...

Rocky Top, Godley is covered with rat snakes. Please add simple snake netting to your pole. Good PM friends is both Cleburne and Burleson have dealt with them many times.

We are in a severe drought here. We've gotten a little rain here and there recently maybe 1/2 inch. Trees are really showing the strain this year. Folks in CO will have a tuff time cleanly up. After I posted earlier my husband came in and said "they are all on the barn roof". Sure enough they were a...

Deb I've always welcomed them before. They've nested in a tree in our pasture several times. Maybe the continued drought has caused them to do things like this. They are easy to chase off but they came right back. They always come to the water troughs to drink. I hate running anything off from water...

I agree and I'll try! I know they are predatory but I've never seen them as birds that flock together. Most I've seen is a pair and a young one. Wonder if it's a family.
