... Sounds like a feeding tray is a great idea.. I may have to build one.. last year was the first year that I had more then 1 pair at home.. So I got to get busy before March gets here ..

.. white-out .. It does sound like you have a great place for Martins.. I started like you with 1 pair the first year. then the second year 1 pair. But prepare your self for some more Martins this up coming year. My colony pairs went from one pair to eight pairs the third year... I guess I could use...

David, Most folks place pine needles, a few handfuls in the gourds would be fine. Martins like them. They add their own material when real nest building begins but it gives them a good head start. ... No problem ... They will return next year.. I leave my housing up until the middle of September.. We have visitors stop by well pass the first week of August..

I want to expand, but I have learned from others not to take down the house that the Martins are used to.. A friend of my took down three of his old houses and replaced them with one brand new ...

.. Yep ,,, It's that time of year again... Darn it went so fast... My last nest just fledged yesterday at my Satellite Site, Oxbow Golf Course. :wink: :wink:
Some are still coming in at night at my home site.. always good to see.. Hope everyone had a great season...
