Brilliant idea Jose,
So I have an Alamo house.....if I take off all the porches and add cling plates I won't have to deal with these pests anymore? I was about to throw in the towel. Or is this just for swinging gourds?

ha ha Mitch. My wife doesn't go for the gourd look either. In fact.....I can't really describe how she feels because this is a 'family friendly' site. It's probably why I don't have any martins, too. lol I might give it another year or two. good luck!

Yes........great work to all of you. Hopefully one day I'll benefit. Just this morning I have a male SY checking things over. It may be too late for this year but it was a thrill for me to just see him. My fingers are crossed!

I haven't seen a martin in over two weeks..........none. I usually see at least one or two feeding high in the sky on a daily basis. Not this year. No ASY's = no chance for a wannabe. Drought related? Not sure but it is quite concerning.

Hey Hanover, Based on your price point I'd go with a Benjamin Titan .22 cal. Bass Pro 159.97. I have one and have been taking out sparrows at 25 - 30 yds. (I can hear the rumbling from those who have $500 guns..........silence!) With this gun it's all about the pellet and getting through the break i...

Louise,
That is very interesting that you put it at the very BACK. Probably would not have thought of that in a million years. Guess that's experience talking. Thanks for the info and the illustration.

Hey Louise The text in the PMCA Shop says: Works on wooden houses with round, oval, and crescent shaped entrances ( will not work in crescent/excluder entrances on metal houses). Please Confirm. I'd much rather spend 25 than 81 ANY day. I have the Alamo. This is the same trap you're using...right? t...

It seems HOSP are ridiculous this year. Put up my house a couple of days ago. Within 30 minutes guess what.........Mr HOSP! I was ticked. Promptly went to get my pellet gun and took him out. The next day.....A Pair of HOSP! Took out the male as he was collecting items for the nest in my yard. Cool. ...

It's been nearly impossible to find 22 ammo here around KC since last October. When gun control started getting a lot of press there was a major run on ammo.

You're far from alone on this Delma. I put up a state of the art Lonestar Alamo. I used cork to insulate each and every compartment. I hand made foam nest trays. Played the damn tapes. You know what I got.........House Sparrows. They at least appreciate a well cared for home, (except they hate foam ...

I haven't seen any .... but I don't have an established site either. I'm looking at least another 3 weeks to even have a chance at any. I'm moving my martin house another 50 feet away from my home. (2 story) Last year any curious bird seemed to be freaked out by something.....(maybe me standing out ...

I actually have a Robin roost area just behind my house in a cedar forest during the summer. Every evening Robins fly in from every compass direction and drop like rocks out of the sky into the trees.....its quite a scene.
