I FINALLY GOT TO DO THE MARTIN HAPPY DANCE TODAY...AROUND NOON TWO MALE MARTINS AND ONE FEMALE LET ME KNOW THEY WERE HOME....BOY DID THEY PUT ON A SHOW , SHOWING ME THEY WERE HOME....THEY CAME IN AT DUSK FOR THE NIGHT.....

eurasian collared doves

these doves are also called ring neck doves....we raise them ourselves in a flight pen.... they are very good birds to raise....we raise them for pets not food,there a lot them seen in the wild along the upper texas coast.

our red house finches like to nest in some of our bluebird houses. they get along well with the blue birds. maybe you build them a house and they would leave your martin houses alone.

WE HAVE ALOT OF LITTLE RED BUGS CRAWLING AT OUR HOUSE TOO. MY HUSBAND SAID THEY ARE TINY RED SPIDERS. THEY DO BITE AS I HAVE BEEN BITTEN BY A FEW.THEY LEAVE A LITTLE BITE BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO BE POISON. THE BITES REALLY DO ITCH ALOT.WE HAVEN'T SEEN THEM HERE BEFORE.

our last two hummingbirds just let tuesday. we have never had hummingbirds this late in the year. we had a very good year for hummingbirds. from middle august until the first week in october we had an average of forty humminbirds every day.thats more than we have ever had. i.m glad they finally left...

OVER THE WEEKEND OUR NUMBER OF HUMMINGBIRDS DROPPED DOWN TO ABOUT 25 BUT YESTERDAY AFTERNOON THE NUMBERS JUMPED BACK UP OVER 50 AGAIN.I HAD TO FILL MY FEEDERS UP TWICE WITHIN 4 HOURS .I FILLED THEM BACK UP THIS MORNING AND THEY ARE ALREADY HALF EMPTY. over the weekend we had around 35 and this evening we had over fifty..we have three feeders up and they were all covered plus the trees were full.i will put up more feeders up in the morning and buy more sugar. i have to fill the feeders up twice a day.this will last for awhile.it is so much fun wat...

WE ARE JUST NOW STARTING GET OUR FALL MIGRATION. WE NORMALLY HAVE ABOUT 8 VISITING EVERY DAY, BUT STARTING THRUSDAY WE HAVE MORE EVERY DAY.
