Hi Marcus,
I found as my colony grew, for me at least, it lost a lot of its small personal connection with the martins. Banding helped bring some of that back. It is really interesting to follow those banded birds over the years.

Definitely not giving up the landlord status. That particular rack is half gourds and then the trendsetter, and have decided to convert it to all gourds.

No expert here either, but I agree with the 2nd year male analysis. I have had a couple of firsts here myself which I feel there are no sure answers for but I won't get into them here. Hopefully they will make it. All you can do is watch and wait.
