Re: They’re coming

I'm glad yours are coming back! One of my friends saw them come in Sunday in T-Town. Can you post a picture of the electric system you have for predators? I still don't know how that works.

Re: Texas Landlords. How Many Years Did You Wait For That First Pair

I see them right next to trees more often than people like to think. I saw a house this weekend that's 10 feet away from 100' tall trees and it had martins. You really never know until you put some housing up about the trees. My grandfather had a house on his dock on a lake and they were in it first...

Re: First arrival, predator control, and supplemental feeding....

Are you seeing any martins yet Brad? I would love to see some pics of that fence charger setup if you don't mind.

Re: Hi

I haven't seen the first Martin and you're right - the weather is awful for them. I hope they are taking it easy somewhere with bugs right now. It's not time for them to be back yet with mother nature in a hateful mood. I let myself catch flu like a dummy so it'll be a while before I can get out and...

Re: Hi

Great idea on the spring. I'll have to do that. Now to watch the sun rise and see what happens.

Re: Hi

First day I could watch and walk around and check things out (recovering from the flu - so home from work at least until Monday). A pair of bluebirds showed interest this morning for an hour or so but have not been back. I have a shepherd's hook and correct sized gourds for them if they do try to ne...

Re: SY or ASY

He might have had more than one mate? I don't know enough about them to say. Some of us are pretty enough to have multiples (well....were - lol). He came back and checked on the other to make sure all was well. Maybe he tried to talk his girl into that site and she wouldn't go for it? Just throwing ...

Re: Hi

LOL - my son got into it last weekend so you know there was none left! He doesn't like the noodles as much as the meat and sauce so the pootstain left me a container of egg noddles I had to do something with. I'm looking forward to it. I can use them as you can see. I was wondering how the electric ...

Re: Hi

GENO! You may know me as "FurFlyin" from a different internet forum..... If you need any gourds, drive over to my place and I'll give you some. It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive. You might be able to pick up a tip or two about attracting them if you have a chance to come over. At least you can see what...

Re: Hi

Couldn't find my CD this evening. Maybe tomorrow. Pouring rain almost nonstop for three weeks now. Did not have any visitors this evening. I have pine straw in them about an inch thick. I do have one decoy. Oddly enough - it was stalked and almost attacked by a big old owl of some sort only a couple...

Hi

Long time lurker. I have not been successful at attracting and holding martins but I haven't given up. I've had a simple gourd rack up for two years. Untreated and unpainted - the first year had a bunch look at it and none try to nest. I had a blue bird pair and a tree swallow pair who lived side by...
