- I have had an active colony since 2000. That year I had a plastic house with 2 pair! I now have two housing units offering 18 nesting cavities. In 2002 we had a high of 16 pairs of Martins. What a fun summer! If you have any questions I would be more than happy to help anyway that I can. You can see my housing and some of my birds at: (http://jw032.k12.sd.us)

- I have provided martin housing since 1991 and have had an active colony since 1993. I have tried both wooden and aluminum, and currently have an aluminum house with 4 plastic gourds. Myself and 2 others sponsored and erected a deluxe gourd rack for our zoo in the spring of 2000, and are trying to attract a colony there, as well as attracting prospective martin enthusiasts. I'd gladly share my experience and PMCA literature with any interested people.
