If you have a starling that you just can't eliminate with conventional traps or a gun, you might try the method used for capturing (and releasing) a banded martin that is detailed in the article "Fishing for Martins" in the Forum Archives. It involves rigging a simple shutter above the cavity they're attempting to nest in. The shutter is held up with a cotter pin that is attached to a fishing line/pole.
