The PMCA took delivery of their new Daytime Chatter CD several weeks ahead of schedule and it is now ready to ship. We are extremely excited about this new landlord tool. It fills a niche in the pool of “attraction tools” that landlords have been asking for.

The material for this CD was recorded with the assistance of the Cornell University Laboratory of Ornithology’s Library of Natural Sounds using the best digital equipment and microphones available. It is digitally recorded in stereo. You can actually hear the wing beats of the birds as they fly around the gourd rack. Being in stereo, you hear birds moving past the microphones complete with Doppler effects (decreasing volume and pitch in the speaker the bird is moving away from, increases in volume and pitch in the speaker the bird is moving toward).

The new chatter CD is designed to function in two ways. First, it will provide landlords with the beautiful daytime sounds of an active martin colony to listen to during the off-season. You’ll hear the chirps and gurgles of over 30 martins in the middle of their energetic courtship frenzy. Secondly, the daytime chatter recording will help would-be landlords attract martins to their sites. Used in sequence with the Dawnsong recording, it can help attract martins by allowing you to recreate the sounds of a thriving colony site. Martins cannot resist investigating when they hear other martins. Use the Dawnsong recording in the early morning and the daytime chatter during the rest of the day.

Daytime Chatter is available as a 74-minute CD only. Price is $12.95 for members, $13.95 for nonmembers (If you are a current PMCA member, be sure to scroll down to the second photo of the CD in the shopping cart area of the PMCA's web store to get your $1.00 discount). Shipping is additional ($4.00), and if you are a PA resident, 6% PA tax on the CD, not on the shipping). You can find the new recording in the martin accessories section of our online catalog, as well as in the gift section. You can order directly from our web site, using the link below:
