I am curious as to what the Martins do from the time they leave the colony housing until they show up at the pre-migratory roost. Fewer and fewer are returning to my site every night now, but I'm thinking that it is a little early to be headed for the roost. Where do they spend their time during this period and where do they roost at night? I've always been curious about that.
Thanks;
Hanover Bill.

Bill, Just posted a new article with a lot of information about roost formation and migration. Although timing will be later in the North than in Texas, the dynamics will be similar. Always glad to see the success you have achieved in creating a purple martin colony.
