This season has been a huge success for many of my wannabe landlord mentees. Everyone one of my mentees that were wating for the magic season, just had their prayers and hard work answered. The first year landlords who get their first successful pair or two are on cloud niine. I let them know and understand that the first few years are vital for their future colony and that some of the new nestlings don't make it through their first year of life. It is easy to get overly confident as a new landlord in thinking that all will be 100% fine the next year. Always try to keep realistic, but congrats on a successful first newbie season.
Mite control, heat venting, predator protection and additional feeding during bad weather add up to success.
