I have my first pair ever and they are building in two different gourds right next to each other. This morning they worked 4 hours straight and have taken off, as per usual, here mid day. One opening is round and one is starling proof (low rectangular shaped opening). Starlings went into the circular one and I quickly shooed them away. Would I be wise to block that opening as the pair is also building a nest in the starling proof one?? Should I leave it blocked or open it when they come back in the early evening to do more nest building?

Thank you,
Jeff, Hamburg, PA
